JEANS DAY
Jeans Day is being held at the Manteno elementary and the primary schools. Usually teachers only wear jeans on Friday, however if they wanted to wear jeans any other day, they donate $5 to the Carin4Erin Benefit and hang a jean on the bulletin board in the teachers lounge. See here >>> |

PENNY WARS
In the Manteno Middle School, a Penny War is currently taking place! Each grade tries to collect more pennies than the other and a war is on!
 From the Middle School Principal....
Starting tomorrow, we will include the staff in the fund-raising drive. Until January 31, the student council will have donation jugs in the gymnasium for 5, 7, 8, and faculty (6th grade gives during the class penny wars at lunch). Faculty may leave their donations with the student council members in the morning. Faculty may also leave their donation with the secretary. The proceeds will go towards family expenses for Kim.
If the staff wins the contest by raising more money than the other grades, I will purchase a catered lunch for the entire staff in February. The menu is TBA, but it will certainly be delicious!!! As a suggested starting donation, consider the cost of a sit-down lunch at a local restaurant.
